Sailed Today, LI Sound

BarryL joined me on WS for three hours (a three hour tour...) Cool and cloudy, moderate breeze. Later the sun came out and the breeze became gentle. Broad reaching back we made 7 knots. It was really nice.

Wanderingstar, You might want to post the air and water temperatures. The OZzies are probably reading your post and thinking "so what, mate?"

Well, I think the air got up to 45!
This is how you stay sane in winter.
Who's up for the next one?

I Am

Hi John,

I'm ready to go again.

The weather was cold, around 40F out on the water. We were both dressed for it, and aside from cold fingers, the cold didn't bother me.

Being out on the water when there is snow on the ground is a new on for me. The jetty lining the channel was encased in ice.

John's boat sailed wonderfully. A nice motion, responsive, easy to handle.

I'm ready to go again.

Barry

Hope you won't think this a hijack... we got out for a few hours ourselves yesterday, sunny with some wispy overcast, 8 degC (47F) with very light air.. still great to get off the dock on a January day.

Snow-capped mountains distant.

Light air.. drifting along.

Nice shot of downtown Vancouver from English Bay
