Thumbs down Fort Lauderdale-need surveyor, mechanic, yard

I may be (emhasis added) purchasing a boat in in Fort Lauderdale and I am looking for thorough surveyor, diesel mechanic, marina with access for 5 foot draft.
Thanx in advance for any info..
PS: I just joined this forum and I must say this has proven to be a truly great resource!!!! .

I used Ed Rowe & Associates to do an insurance survey on my Hunter 30 a few years back. Ed was reasonably priced and did an outstanding job. I would use him again without hesitation. He can be reached at 954-328-5780 or 888-589-7463.

If you need a boatyard to haul your boat, I have heard good things about Cracker Boy (561-845-0357) and Playboy Marine Center (954-920-0533). Both yards advertise as "do it yourself".

I cannot recommend a diesel mechanic, but I'm sure Ed Rowe can recommend someone.
