Learning basics of sailing

I have completed my 4th week of Basic Sail (classroom) YEA! I am just about overwhelmed by all the terminology. What is the most important thing for me to focus on? The sails fascinate me and maybe I am putting too much time on learning every detail. How about some pointers? Anyone going to the Miami Boat show in Feb.?

Hut,

Now that you have book and class room learning, go put it to use on the water. GO SAILING! That''s the best way to learn.

Learning basics of sailing

Hut,

I have been a sailor since 1995. Still a green horn at it. I spent 4 summers day sailing with a man in his 70''s who had been sailing most of his life. He made a startling statement, "I am still learning new stuff all the time." I guess that no matter how much we learn, we won''t know it all and like him, we keep learning untill we can''t sail any more.
