Racine area marinas

Does anybody hear have any experiences (good or bad) with the marinas in Racine. I'm strongly considering renting a slip for the summer for my Com-Pac Eclipse and am torn between Reefpoint and Gaslight marinas. Reefpoint had some negative reviews on another website (not a sailing-only website).

I considered the Racine Yacht Club, but can't justify the expenses this year for the amount of time I have available.

Thanks.

Check out Pugh's Marina. I have slipped there for many years, no bridges to deal with right on the river.

I've been in Reefpoint for the past seven years. I enjoy it. They have upgraded the shower facilities to include air conditioning in the last two years. The restaurant is much better with more appropriate fare. It has a pool. You can either walk to town or take the trolley (which is either free or 25 cents ... not sure... we walk most of the time). The big town festivals are held within walking distance. The docks are floating docks, unlike Pughs or the Yacht Club. Skipper Bud's has moved the corporate HQs to Reefpoint in the last two years. There has been some nice upgrades and maintenance done in the last two years. Don't know if it is a coincident or not, but it has happened which is nice.

Racine Riverside has invested and has really upgraded their boater facilities. However, you have to deal with one drawbridge from there (opens every 20 minutes on the hour (as needed)).

I'm guessing Gaslight is on the south side of the river across from Pugh's. I don't know anything about their facilities except they have floating docks. But you wouldn't know where the head/showers were from the river so make sure you check it out and has what you want.

I'd be happy to talk with you about any of these if you wish. PM me if you want.
