Hello
I would consider a Tayana 37,Cutter. I have one for 10 years, cruised Europe, Caribbean and the Atlantic coast. It is a perfect boat for live aboard and` offshore cruising. Besides, its the best buy on the market.

How is the contruction on the Tayana? I have heard some have some problems due to the material used. I am looking at perhaps buying one when I get back for some blue water ops.

Pretty bombproof and overbuilt as was the design of that era.
Some TY37 boats are now showing up with chainplate base problems due to maintenance errors.

Other: Asian metalurgy is always of ''great question'' and ''wonder'' - original rigging of dubious quality. Many have black iron fuel tanks that rot from the underside if not maintained.

They sail quite well for a full keel design. Lots of owner comments, etc. on Sailnet Tayana eMail archives (use sidebar at left). Sailnet also has a Tayana ftp site: ftp://ftp.sailnet.com/tayana/
