used live aboard

have about settled on a westsail 32/42 for a crusing live aboard. would like your suggestions on a newer designed boat. like westsail size below , ruggedness, looks. looking for easyer sailing, more seakindly motion at sea . tks tc david minix

I would consider a Tayana 37,Cutter. I have one for 10 years, cruised Europe, Caribbean and the Atlantic coast. It is a perfect boat for live aboard and` offshore cruising. Besides, its the best buy on the market.

How is the contruction on the Tayana? I have heard some have some problems due to the material used. I am looking at perhaps buying one when I get back for some blue water ops.

Pretty bombproof and overbuilt as was the design of that era.
Some TY37 boats are now showing up with chainplate base problems due to maintenance errors.

Other: Asian metalurgy is always of ''great question'' and ''wonder'' - original rigging of dubious quality. Many have black iron fuel tanks that rot from the underside if not maintained.
