Is it spring yet? (warning: big pictures)

I went over to check on our boat yesterday, making sure the cover was still secure and that all was well with the cradle. After my quick inspection, I took a walk to the Lake Michigan shoreline and out the north pier at Grand Haven. Thought I'd post a few photos just so all of you sailors living in smaller latitudes than I don't take it for granted.

I'm glad I live in Texas.

Difference between a power boater and a sailor out on the water: A power boater is going some place special, a sailor is already there.

I think I'd wait a bit before planting the garden . We've had the mildest winter I can remember here in the PNW, the daffodils are up about 4-6", the grass is green and growing, trees are budding out, it's very weird, but I like it

She's currently hibernating on her cradle in the shipyard at the marina.

Beautiful Winter Pic's Kwalter.
I am counting down the weeks; we have made the turn and are now on the back nine.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
