jrd22 will become famous soon enough
Unless you could locate the second boat somewhere else (south for winter sailing, not sure where you are?) that you could use for vacations or something you should sell it. Maintaining two boats is a major time and financial commitment. If you are sailing on one, while neglecting needed maintenance on the other it detracts from the enjoyment. If you are doing needed maintenance on one instead of taking advantage of good weather and going sailing you are going to seriously question your sanity. I think the wife is right on this one .

You are right about maintaining two boats. Even though the Harbor 20 is a low-maintenance gal, I'm often running back and forth between the two.

BTW, I am the wife, and I'm not going to tell my husband that you think he's right

Thanks to all for the feedback on twoboatownership (hmm... sailnet's spell checker doesn't think that is a word).

I've been thinking about it a lot since my original post, and unless I hit the lottery in the next two months, the Bristol is going up for sale. With all the work I am doing to her, at least I'll be able to feel good about the condition she'll be in when a new skipper takes the helm.

It's like the silver ware drawer. Fork, knife, spoon-they all have a job they do better than the others. If you have enough time and money more is sometimes better. Who said "Too much is not enough"? Probably some rich dude.

I looked at a couple of Bristol 24's before I bought my boat (Oday 23). Looks like you are doing a ton of work prior to sale. Best of luck; I hope you get back at least some of your costs in the sale.
