Diesel Quality in Caribbean

What is the quality of diesel fuel in the Caribbean? We are familiar with the Sea of Cortez and know where to use our Baja filter. Now we will be cruising in the Lesser Antilles, then Trinidad and the Venezuela coast and are concerned about water and sediment in the fuel.

There''s nothing lost in using the Baja filter if ever in doubt. I use mine all the time except when I know fishermen usinh the pump use it without hesitation. Now in CUBA - that''s another story, at one ''so-called'' marina (laughs!!!) the stell pie end was UNDER the water!!!. I use THREE filters water extraction, and two fine plus I have an emeragency exchange line to change whilst running. You can never be TOO CAREFULL if the engine is the only way out of trouble for you.
