Nor has anyone suggested using the navigation methods employed by a infinite improbability drive. Using an infinite improbability drive would make it infinitely improbable that anything would go wrong.

Much better than a coin, though there is a whale and some flowers that may not agree.

And we all know what that means.

There are two sets of satellites that transmit the GPS signals. One set transmits in the clear and the other can only be used by GPS receivers that have the correct crypto key loaded. We actually have to capability to make the un-secure GPS satellites transmit a bad or offset signal that would confuse receivers in the event of an attack. They can also shut down the non-secure satellites and leave the secure satellites transmitting so that are military will still be able to navigate.

Glonass, Galileo and the other GNSS systems have the same vulnerabilities as GPS - the same weak signals, and operating in the same frequency band. Jam one, and you'll probably jam them all.

E-Loran offers a more robust alternative, with much stronger signals and a different frequency band. Hopefully the decision to scrap LORAN in the USA and Canada won't stop it being implemented in Europe.

I was hoping they were just scraping the old system and will at some point bring in E-Loran but money is tight, particularly for these types of programs. Of course there is a bottomless pit of money for.......anyway I know Canada will not bring in E-Loran until after the US does and that is not anytime soon, apparently.
