Flipped a Boat Today!

My Dad has been building a stitch and glue boat for the past 2 1/2 years. He's finally to the point that it is ready to be flipped. Pretty exciting time! Here are the pics... Next up, the topside and probably another 2 years - hopefully shorter, we'll see... It's a B&B Design called the Belhaven 19. B

My Mom, my Wife, Sister in Law, Brother, and me and Dad (l to r)

And what it will look like finished - Just not putrid yellow....

CONGRATULATIONS!! Well Done!!

For those unfamiliar, "flipping the boat" is a major milestone during construction -- a big moment. I still remember the day we flipped our dinghy (except in our case we flipped it from "right-side-up" to "up-side-down", but no matter.) We slid it down a lumber ramp and out of the garage, flipped it, then lifted it back in. A big day.

Landlocked, give your dad two thumbs up from me.

Thanks John, i'll tell him! We are all pretty stoked! Yah, it's been flipped twice now. Really the hardest part was folding and holding the sides in place. 19' of 1/4" plywood doesn't stay where you want it to sometimes...

LandLocked, congratulations to your father, great looking hull!

And John, I could just sit and look at that Passagemaker all day long, it is beautiful, a boat to be proud of.

Nice craftsmanship...To the both of you!

By your thread title I was expecting to See mayhem and blood though!..

"Go Simple...Go Large"

Relationships are everything to me..everything else in life are just tools to enhance them.

The purchase price of a boat is just the admittance fee to the dance...you still have to spend money on the girl...so court one with something going for her with pleasing and desirable character traits others desire as well... or you could find yourself in a disillusioned relationship contemplating an expensive divorce.

Oh, I can't take any credit for the craftmanship! I just help pick it up and flip it...
