I went sailing today...

The first sail since new Years Day 2009 when I went out with Smack in Austin. I took the V-21 out for a demo/training sail. It was so light at first, ya couldn't feel a breeze but the boat could and we ghosted along. The breeze came up a bit and we lapped the lake both up and downwind. I sailed her into the dock and let him rig her down. Now I'm down to one boat again but I'll probably go out with him a couple more times until he gets it down well enough.

Sailing? You mean these docklines come off? Who knew?

First sail of the year always seems nice, like summer can't be far away now.

Glad someone got out. The weax was crap here. Useable, but not necessarily enjoyable. I cleaned the hell out of my woodwork and installed a new anchor rode and a compass, among other things.

Yes it did, light air or not. Amazingly, I functioned as if I'd never taken that long break.
