Sailing clinic with Bruce Bingham at Boca Ciega Yacht Club, Florida!!!

Don't Miss This Opportunity!

BCYC Sailing Clinic, Presented by Bruce Bingham at the Boca Ciega Yacht Club in Gulfport, FL.

Started March 4, 7:00pm and contines every week through March and April, this course will include demonstrations, handouts, PowerPoint presentations and hands-on practice.

Topics will include:
Reefing systems & procedures, attention to sail trim, reading tell tales, controlling sail twist, mains'l and heads'l control systems, sail draft control, effective tacking, rig tuning, furling and folding sails, racing makes better cruisers, sailing safely, and a lot more!

All taught by Bruce Bingham, master sailor. He's the designer of the famous Flicka 20 and the Fantasia 35, the author of 4 boating books (with more on the way) and an all around knowledgeable guy. This year marks his 70th birthday for Bruce who is still actively living aboard his sailboat and working in the sailing world. He is very excited to pass on his knowledge to a new generation of sailors. Bruce is a longtime legend in the sailing community and this is a great opportunity to learn from one of the true masters.

Cost is free for members and $15 for non-members per session. Clinics are on Thursdays, usually starting around 7:00pm.

Contact Bruce if you are interested in the clinic.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

I did not expect to see Bruce Bingham posting on craigslist, but that's where this ad was!

Needless to say, I sent him an email explaining my love for the Fantasia and how it would be an honor to personally learn something from him. He sent back a gracious email and he sent a PDF flier for the clinics. I can't wait to meet him!!!
