Stuck in the doldrums and VHF turned off. Captain refused to let students use radio to contact family, the report says. Inaccurate info regarding destination and route provided to those on shore. This was ostensibly a training cruise, with 5 students charged $3500 a piece.

What do we learn from all of this, boy and girls?
