First sail of the season (finally)

Went out for the first time today. Out on the lake in a 23' Ensign with my sailing instructor from last year. Was a bit breezey, 10-15 with a gust or two at 20. Got knocked nearly flat on a jibe when an unexpected gust hit. No harm done just got a little wet, had some good spray too. All in all was a great afternoon out on the lake and we have another session scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. Won't be as windy though and we may be on the 26' Pearson this time. A little stiffer boat. Finally getting out.

Congrats. Looking forward to this time of year since last november. Its been a little breezy here in OKC, OK but I've been out as well. Never had a knock down and am not looking forward to it. I believe I have had a broach that I listed in a BFS last year.

I too was in a 23' today, yep breezy and I am planning on moving up to the 26' to see if its a little staedier in the gusts. Same lake?

I was on Lake Minnetonka in MN. Didn't go out today though as the wind was at or worse than yesterday. Want to enjoy the sail instead of survive it... Next week should be better.

Yeah a bit windy today on 'tonka, a steady 17 with gusts to 33 last hour. With the wind out of the north it makes it a little tough to venture out beyond Excelsior.
