My headsail is not... The foam luff and high cut clew helps retain sail shape without moving the genoa cars way forward. On a boat with longer genoa tracks than mine you could probably use a lower cut clew; and move the cars forward. But these details are often overlooked in headsail design and in practical use, which is why in many cases the headsail turns into an "ugly bag" when reefed.

Good thread to stumble upon! I love the "look" of these boats but like the OP, I too was worried about their behavior characteristics. I would love to coastal cruise or offshore cruise the East coast/Caribbean and could probably manage to do so in one of these.
