Who hasnīt got a boat yet ?

Greetings all,

when I joined here I felt a bit out of the loop as we are boatless still and so it occurred to me to ask , how many of you are in the same (non ) boat and what boat you would ideally want. I will let my other half tell you what he is looking for as he is the one who got me into this and knows way more than I do.

Me neither.

Looking in the 30'-32' range probably, early 80's.

As a starting point I like:

Morgan 32
C&C 32
Catalina 30

I also kinda dig the Catalac 8/9M, but think I wanna start on a mono. I could definitely see bumping up to a sweet multi in the future if the liveaboard/cruising thing really takes hold.

Boatless

We are still officially free of boat ownership even if that window could be closing real soon.

I'm boat free and will be for any foreseeable future; I just can't justify the cost or time needed to own when I can charter locally and race on other people's boats. The flexibility to adjust the size of the boat based on the number of people who want to join me sailing is a nice perk.

Maybe someday I'll own...

Well, actually I spent it at the dentist, but I did spend some time over the past couple of weeks looking at boats. Pulled the trigger on a 1979 C&C24 this afternoon. I liked the price, owner was happy with the price. Not a perfect boat, but for 31 years old it's not bad and certainly plenty good enough for a first boat. I'm stoked
