US Naval Academy Museum Reopened

Closed for about a year and a half for renovations, the US Naval Academy Museum has reopened - but you know that if you read the Thread title.

For those of you in the Annapolis area, a visit to the US Naval Academy Museum is well worth your time. Some of the boat models are incredible.

Here's a link to the site:

Welcome to the United States Naval Academy Museum

They also just opened the new museum store in the lower level which has books, artwork, gifts and souvenirs related to U.S. naval history.

If you saw the old museum, the ship models are incredible, and all still there in the remodeled version. There are also a lot of other artifacts placed in context, to really understand the history depicted. They did a really good job on the remodel!

My all time favorite is the bone ship models build by prisoners of war two hundred years ago, from the bones they saved from their food rations.

I'll be there the 25th to the 29th for graduation. I'll check it out.
