Cleveland surveyor

Any recommendations for a top notch surveyor near Cleveland OH, experienced with complex and numerous systems on a large SV?

Sanduskysailor is on a distinguished road
Greg Group is absolutely the best. Experienced in all types of sailboats and exceptionally good at find structural and water absorption issues. His company is Great Lakes Marine Surveyors Greg Group 216-408-8800 . He surveyed the boat I purchased last year and saved me thousands.

I sent Greg an email over the weekend but have not heard. I will call him on Mon morning. I will need the survey done this week. If he is not available, does anyone have a next choice? Thanks for the recommendation.

Greg quoted $45 per foot for a 55ft. I will pay for quality, but seriously? The boat is complex, but not that crazy, and its only a few years old.

My guess is that he is in high demand and very busy and threw a number out to make it worth it for him to make the room for it. I don't think I respect that practice, if I'm right.

$45/foot does sounds expensive but if I were paying big money for a late model 55 footer I would pay Greg to survey it. I paid him a lot extra to travel to Buffalo for our last boat and people pay him to travel a lot farther than that for surveys.

Post ******......

After I informed Greg that I was going another direction, he continued to provide information on what the hired surveyor should be sure to look for. He seems very knowledgable and it was certainly optional on his part to do that. I will give him a thumbs up for the last minute reputation save.

I think he may have felt a bit guilty over his quote. $30 or $35 I may have accepted as expensive but worth it.
