What's up with Garhauer??

I just tried to get onto Garhauer's web site, but had no luck. The page that came up appears to belong to Network Solutions, whoever they are. There is a small blurb at the top of the page that says the domain name expired on 4-26 and is pending renewal or deletion. Did Garhauer go belly up?

Network Solutions is the original domain name registration folks for web sites. Sounds as if the domain that Garhauer had is no longer owned by them, or anyone else for that matter. If they are still in business they need to re-up their domain name for their website.

This happens if you're late in paying your annual fee to Network Solutions or whomever the domain name is registered with. It has happened to me and most who own a web site.

Ditto what Freesail said, it happens a lot. It can be difficult keeping track of all the different site expiration dates. You have your host expiration dates and your domain name expiration dates.

Has anyone attempted to call them? If they have timed out on their contract for the web site, they may not even know it, especially if it was an oversight.

Their web site is down again. Perhaps they're changing ISP. Not exactly what I'd call a smooth transfer if that's what's happening. Now I don't get the message that their domain expired, I just get a could not connect error.

I think I would be chewing some webmaster A$$ right about now.

Go ahead and chew on the web master, when in reality, it may have been an acct's ass you should be chewing on for NOT paying a bill that was on there desk, now the web master has to reload the site etc!

Who knows who's fault, other than one to ????? folks screwed up!

Heck, I was trying to look up a document two weeks ago on a US military .gov web site and got a red banner warning me that the security credentials (certificate) for the site were invalid. These kind of glitches happen with the web all the time.

You pay peanuts, you get monkeys. And that's on a good day.
