First Time out under sail

I posted what a tough time I had my first trip out under motor not too long ago. Well I had the first time out under sail last weekend and the pain and suffering of motoring to new harbours and cleaning decks and repairing wiring is well worth it.

First trip out and it set sail on a beam reach and sailed smooth as silk. I had one lesson, but I almost think that this vessel knew what to do. I''ve put a lot of confidence in the therapy that I would someday enjoy sailing and I think that I''m gonna get every pennies worth soon.

Rookie Hunter

As I was reading the second paragraph of your post, I realized that I had a big smile on my face. The smile was for two reasons, one for you and the other for myself.
With that paragraph you took a lot of us back in time. Some of us about thirty five years.
I am sure you will learn and enjoy every time you step aboard.

We thank you and fair sailing.
Walt Ward
