Looking for used Baltic charts covering Lubeck to Helsinki

Hi,

I'm looking to borrow, beg, or buy used charts covering the Baltic,
from Lubeck to Helsinki.

E.g. British Admiralty charts:

Chart 259 Baltic Sea

or preferably the higher resolution

Chart 2816 Baltic Sea - Southern Sheet
Chart 2817 Baltic Sea - Northern Sheet and Gulf of Finland

Or the Swedish charts:

General chart 6 Östersjön norra delen
General chart 7 Östersjön, södra delen
General chart 8 Skagerrak - Kattegatt och närliggande farvatten

If you know of anyone who might have some or all of the above, or
anything comparable, please let me know.

Cheers,

Patrick

Hi Patrick,

Can't help you with the charts. I have done a lot of sailing around Helsinki, but it was 50 years ago! One thing I remember is the Finnish system of chanel markers; sticks with baskets. I was told their system was designed to be confusing and make invasion by sea a difficult task. Remember, this was during the cold war so things may have changed now. It's not a place you want to run aground, it's more like running arock as the bottom is unforgiving.

Finland is a beautiful country and the Finn's are great people.

BTW I owned a Westerly Padgent for about 15 years here in Florida. What an impressive little boat. I think she could take just about anything the Gulf could throw at her. Not too fast upwind but she did well on a reach or downwind.

Enjoy your Baltic travels and see if you can get some Finns to give you a real Sauna!

I see you're in Espoo, I lived in Westend.
