Lucky for us down here in the gulf coast, the path will take it just away from the oil spill. At least thats what is predicted so far.

It will be the strong Easterly flow North of Alex that will bring the oil inland along the AL,LA,and Ms. coast..Even if it heads to Texas that Easterly flow will be trouble
