What type of boat is this?

Hello,

I was hoping to find some information on my little sailboat. There are no visible numbers on the transom or hull. The sail may or may not be original. The top side is original color.I had to fabricate the rudder bracket,as the old one corroded and snapped.

Any info would be awesome,

Thanks,

Brett

Sail and rigging doesn't look original. Shape & deck looks something like a 470. If that's the case, sailplan is definitely not original. Could look into used sails / rigging - 470's are fun sportsboats

No idea what kind of boat it is, but I have the same sail and rig in the rafters of the garage. The original boat for the rig looked a lot more like a laser than that one does, so I agree, it looks to have been swapped out.

Thanks for the responses.I attempted loading two more photos, but it said their size was too big,so I shrunk 'em again and it still said no.I did read the newbie stickie thread,so I suppose I'll make a photobucket.I haven't sailed her since she's been redone, but it was always a fun boat(before I owned it a friend had it for years).I can't wait to get her underway!

Holy cow!!!Sailing is so fun!I killed the dragon yesterday and took my little dinghy around the horn.Actually,I sailed about 10 blocks north, dodging the pier and all the fisherman, and then back to where I launched off the beach.Tacking included,I probably went around 2 miles.I am so excited about this little dinghy! All my repairs proved to be perfectly done, and when I pulled the little plug,no water came out.I got in irons a few times, but mostly I stayed busy on broad reaches, beam reaches,I was full and by most half the way north, although I never did jibe. The lifeguards said I looked pro...career change?I don't know much about sailing, but what I learned on my little adventure was priceless!

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

looks like a sunfish to me, except the cockpit is a bit large. The lanteen rig, transom, and daggerboard are all textbook sunfish, though. Probably a 90's era clone of one sort or another.

looks like fun
