breath2000 is on a distinguished road
Barbarossa winches disappeared

Two Barbarossa 54-2's and a 74-3 were unbolted and removed from our trimaran in Palm Beach Harbor. I will pay a reward for any leads on finding the people who borrowed them from us. We need them back-No questions asked.. We are a non-profit organization taking kids sailing from the Boys and Girls Clubs and this is a huge expense for us so I pray that they will find their way home. The 74-3 is about 90 pounds or 40 kilos. Other than contacting marine surplus and scrap yards, any ideas on where to look for these?
Thank you.

ebay or graigs list among other options for an online selling source. If they are all bronze or equal, they may already be melted down too, so a metal recycler might be an option too.

If there are any waterfront webcams or security cameras that you know of, you might ask the owners if you can review recordings. Odds are someone landed your winches in a dink, somewhere, and if you got very lucky, you might see them passing by. Posting a note on the dink docks might also jog someone's memory.

Good luck!

File a police report...contact the local pawn shops, marine consignment shops, and check with the marinas and boat yards for information.

Craigslist and eBay are often places stolen goods are sold, as pointed out above, but you need to have a police report filed before they will help you.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
