The TVA

Happy Fourth Everyone! Has anyone cruised or does anyone have a sailboat anywhere on the TVA? I cannot find much information on sailboats and sailing on the TVA. Thank You. -Rob

are you referring to the tenn.river system?if so try looking up a particular lake[impoundment]ie fort loudon, watts bar, nickajack lake etc,my boat is currently slipped on watts bar.even though actual sailing is some what limited by space and wind factors there is quite a few sailors on all of these lakes.the tenn.river is navaigatable via a series of locks from knoxville tenn.[fort loudon lake] to the ohio river in kentucky

Good Morning.
I live in Asheville and am looking at alternatives to Annapolis. (The drive is killing me). I have wondered about the Tennessee lakes and the wind factor. There really is not much out there about sailing on the TVA either on the net or in books. I like the idea that i can actually go places on the boat from the Tennessee River rather than on any standard lake. My boat is 41' so that may be a factor as well. Meaning that i have not seen many larger sailboats on these rivers. How do you like being on Watts bar? Do you recommend andy marinas that cater to sailors? Any info would be appreciated. Thank You.
