Captain's License Question

In the Deck General module (open book), there are questions about Ship Stability. In my study guide, there are formulas for solving Period of Roll, Vertical Shift in G due to moving Cargo, etc.

In the REC Exam room, are there books that will have these formulas or do I need to memorize them?

I also found a question asking for the range of a BII CO2 fire extinguisher. The answer is like 3-8 feet, but I don't think that I could find that in the CFRs. Nobody could be expected to know this walking into the exam room, are there books available that will provide answers to these types of questions?

You will probably need to memorize the stability formulae. The books in the REC are usually Navigation books.
