I'm from Northern Ontario. Sailed in the North Channel until moving here in the DR last February. North Channel and the Georgian Bay are some of the best sailing grounds in the world. I really miss sailing the fresh water.

Eastern Ontario for me.

SeaMonkey, I spent a winter in the DR about 20 years ago, back in my windsurfing days, Cabarete to be exact. Beautiful country, beautiful country and the windsurfing? That was beautiful too. To this day I miss the place.

John, I'm in Sosua, 10 minutes west of Cabarete. Kite surfing is huge in Cabarete now. Beautiful island, but nothing like sailing in fresh water.

I am from the Toronto area; member of Whitby YC. Like Sea Monkey though we are sailing in non-freshwater now - although I must say I like water that warm.
In Toronto for hurricane season and will be returning to Ainia in mid-October to get ready for heading toward Panama in early November.

Another Toronto guy here.. Bought a Farr 727 currently on the hard in Whitby. It's going in the gf's driveway for a refit over the fall/winter and it goes into Lake Ontario in the spring.
