Where is it?

Its looking due north;there is a very big island 2000 mls to the west;its at several meeting points!;note the overfalls and different water colours.
If you have been there lets give it a while to see if anyone else knows

Has it been long enough?

I've never been there, but I would love to visit someday.

Hey, I thought Australia was only a bit over 1000 nautical miles away from North Island?

Can we tell yet?

Anybody?

Okay, my guess is Cape Reinga Lighthouse

P.S. Spolier alert: Don't click on the (hopefully) hidden link above if you want to keep guessing.

The vegetation reminds me of southern California.

Yes Cape Reinga,Northland ,New zealand-Tasman Sea to left ,South Pacific to lright.Sorry I got the mileage wrong to Australia should have said Kilometers as per pic below.
Not the most northerly point of NZ but the most accessible northerly point-sadly becoming more so as they regrade and seal(tar)the road there!
For those who do not know its where the Maori believe heaven and earth meet and from where their spirits ascend into heaven-it certainly has a spiritual sense. Iona off the Isle of Mull in Scotland has a similar feel and the white shell sand beaches if not the semitropical temperatures.
My daughter and grandson live down in the Hokianga Harbour area not far from the Tasman Sea.
Yet to go sailing in NZ -I missed a trip out of The Bay of Islands with one of my son in laws friends because of bad weather back in summer(NZ February2009.)
Will be back!
