Anybody sailed from DGIF ramp in West Point, VA?
So in my never-ending quest to find a decent place within an hour drive of my house to launch my Islands 17 daysailor, I'm considering trying out the Virginia Department of Inland Game and Fisheries ramp at Glass Island in West Point, VA.
I've driven past it several times, and the York right there looks like it might be a nice body of water to fool around on with my little boat.
My only concern is what the current might be like, and how difficult it might be to make it back up river to the ramp.
Has anyone ever splashed a little sailboat from that ramp and sailed around there?
Thanks,
