Looking for a bluewater boat-how best to search

After boat searching for eight months and having a deal on a brewer 42 fall thru a few days back, I am renewing my search. Boats under consideration are whitbys, brewers, csy 44, landfall 43, Pan oceanic 43 and similar boats. I can say that there are some truly great brokers out there and there are some that are not great. Frankly, I wish there was a platform whereby boat owners could search boat buyers. More specifically, it would be great for me to establish a profile of a boat I desire and identify the price range I desire and have that info readily available for sellers to search. I know sailboatlistings.com is a FSBO service but what is missing are the sold data (it is a great service and I sold my boat thru it) . After looking from florida to Mass, I have seen just about every boat that meets my criteria first hand and, frankly, the owners always seem to list their boats at the high end of the price range. Sold data could allow sellers to establish more reasonable prices. Any thoughts would be appreicated. (If there are sellers of the above vessels out there, feel free to contact me at LonRcrow@yahoo.com)

hmmmm... sounds a lot like Boats for Sale, Yachts for Sale, Used Boats, Power Boats, Motor Yachts.

Apologies, didn't read your post well enough, but you're idea about creating a 'buyers' database for sellers to look into (of course like ebay ) buyers specifically for boating would be a great addition to yachtworld's service. I wonder if anyone's listening.

There are websites and services that provide the price data for boats that have sold, but you generally need to be a boat broker and be subscribed to these services.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

and there goes the problem

Thanx for the comments. As a realtor (my third career), I feel there will be an end to that "profession" within the next five years. This profession, as the boat broker profession, is all about info control. MLS and yachtworld provided information for the buyers to be fully informed (such as sold data) thru an exlusive group of individuals. As I have discussed with many boat brokers, this info exclusivity is going bye bye in real estate. In the northwest, buyers can get all the info they need, including sold data, to make an informed decision. A website that brings boat buyers and boat sellers together would be the perfect match...kind of like a boat "zillow".
