Westerbeke 4-60 Parts Source

Westerbeke do not keep many/any parts for this lovely little engine.
The head gasket Kit is >$500, but they "Don't have any supply."
After a bit of research, it appears that the engine is a Diesel version of the Mini 948cc Engine, that was fitted in a BMC MiniTractor 9/16.This was a baby farm tractor, do a google.
There is a very nice chap in UK, Tim Blackburn, who has supplied me with everything I needed,(Water pump, head gasket kit, more) at a lot less than Westerbeke, but more/as important as the price, he actually HAS stock of parts.!

Hi, I just found this post and I can add a little more to your comments about these little diesels. The Four-60/MiniTractor diesel is a re-designed version of the BMC/British Leyland A-Series gas engine used in millions of cars such as the MG Midget and Austin Mini. Lots of the smaller parts, gaskets, etc, are probably the same or close enough to use, and any British car specialist who sells parts for MG's should be able to help. There are several good ones in the USA and Canada.

I'm looking to buy a Westerbeke Four-60 myself, in fact I found this post while trying to Google engines for sale. Please send me a message or answer this thread if you know anywhere I could get one.

I realize this post is fairly old, but I just saw ir for the first time. Do you have any idea where I could find a Westerbeke Four-60 engine? I've been looking for one for quite a while, but no luck.

Mine is in a C&C 30 MK2 but i dont think its original.

By the way, any British car parts dealer that sells parts for MG sports cars will have many of the smaller parts such as gaskets, timing chains, etc.
The diesel engine is a derivative of the gas engine used in many small British cars of the 60's such as MG Midgets or Austin Minis. Most of the smaller hardware will be the same, and reasonably priced.
(As you can probably guess, I'm a British car fan!)
