Omatako will become famous soon enough
So its not a sailing boat but . . . . (photo rich)

These are heavy seas!!!

They're close to the coast so the water is probably a bit shallow which doesn't help.

The purchase price of a boat is just the admittance fee to the dance...you still have to spend money on the girl...so court one with something going for her with pleasing and desirable character traits others desire as well... or you could find yourself in a disillusioned relationship contemplating an expensive divorce.

It reminds me of being on the aircraft carrier in the arctic and from the hanger bay, watching the little destroyers and cruisers bounce around in the 30-40 ft seas.

Fishing.... Bering Sea is my guess, or somewhere else around the coast of the PNW... quite a few of similar type boats based in Seattle.

Awesome boat, doing something I hope to never experience. I'm a great big chicken.

Experience that a few times... It does make things interesting and those interesting times you want few and far between... Unfortunately I didn't ever get that wish.

A fishing boat off the coast of Scotland I believe.

Looking at the pictures and the direction the boat is going in the assorted shots and making an assumption that they're taken from something solid (maybe a lighthouse), it looks to me like they were going out fishing and ran into this, turned around and hightailed it for home.
