abandoned sailboat off fl coast

just saw this on the news.

Search Of Abandoned Sailboat Planned - Orlando News Story - WESH Orlando

looks like my boat!! no one on board. flying a non us flag.

wonder what the story is?

That is strange. Since the sails were up, I would suspect somebody went overboard.
What about that fender hanging over the side, would that belong to the CG boarding crew?

another source says it's a 47 ft, so a 473 I think...

Why wasn't the stern shown, possibly with the hailing port? Why wasn't a close up shown of the hull? Looks like a Hunter, Beneteau, or Jeaneau

Well, this is strange... Local news just reported:

The boat is from sweden and the captain(sounded like a singlehander) last talked to his family on August 27. Said he was heading Northeast to avoid Earl.

When found, the prop was fouled with rope. The $10,000 navigation equipment was missing. The liferaft was missing. His adult children are here in FL from Sweden hoping for some answers...
