But my guests are college friends who live out of town and went to school in DC, and I think they'll prefer seeing the DC monuments from the river, so sailing between Haines Point and the WW Bridge may be preferable, despite the noise.
Don't forget the 14th Street Bridge is VERY LOW
and does NOT raise, the chart shows 18' vert clearence. That is not exactly a clearence for a sailboat. And except for the Capitol and the Washington Monument you can not really "see" the memorials from south of those bridges. A tourboat is the better boat ride to see monuments.
