Land sickness

Do menial tasks make you want to throw up? Does an office environment make you queasy? You might be one of the thousands of individuals who suffer from chronic land sickness..

Land Sickness - there is only one cure - Yacht and Boat

Disclaimer: I am NOT in any way affilated with this site, but I have been suffering 'land sickness' for a while (with SailNet Withdrawal Syndrome on top! ) and thought some of ya'll might also..

I often tried to use that at work ..... to no avail. They were totally unsympathetic that stay at my boat was best for me

Actually, I did. I took early retirement and moved aboard. Haven't slept off the boat in over 4 years

I don't get queasy, but too long away from sailing makes me listless and cranky.

That's just the first symptoms... give it a while..

I've found sailing movies and sailing books only help so far and long walks along a beach are just frustrating. There's nothing quite like getting out there and breathing the salt air yourself.

I went a couple of seasons without, but I sail year round unless it's really cold or the harbor is frozen.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

I would think about living on land, but it just doesn't move right.
