Update:
Where we went and when, a good time was had by all !
One day of heavy fog, one extra day at cuttyhunk becasue of high winds
and one kick ass T-storm going through the canal to P-town
But a great time, that went by much to quickly !

Nice trip. Hope you had a great time. Bristol on the 4th is pretty nice, but I'm surprised you found a place to stay.

We just did a similar trip (still ongoing, sort of). I had the boat delivered from NY to Marion, where I jumped on board. Then:

1. Friday from Marion to Boston.
2. Sat - Sun in Boston.
3. Mon to Scituate (great little town).
4. Tues-Wed in Scituate.
5. Thurs to P-Town.
6. Fri-Sat in P-Town.
7. Sun to Plymouth.
8. Mon to Block Island (a SERIOUSLY long day).
9. Tues - Thurs on Block.
10. Fri to Jamestown.

Boat is sitting on a mooring in Jamestown now, and we're going to go up for the next two weekends, and after that take another week to cruise around Narragansett Bay and then home for Labor Day. A very cool area to cruise. We've sailed LIS, BI, the Vineyard, Nantucket, Newport, etc., many times, but this was our first time cruising the Cape Cod Bay side of the canal. Highly recommend it.

Watch the canal if you enter at night. Lots of lighted bouys, but I was confused by the motion of the lights in a fog entering from Buzzard's Bay. Light traffic was nice, though. Rainy foggy night is not a busy combination there I guess.
