My sailing school/boat club offered up a flotilla last weekend. I jumped on it, $295 to sail about 90 miles on Lake Superior. We went from Pike's Bay just south of Bayfield Wisconsin to Spirit Lake Marina on the St. Louis River just south of Duluth Minnesota. We took 4 boats, a 36' islander, (2) 34' Hunters and a 39' Fairweather Mariner. I was on one of the 34' Hunters. Weather was cool, had frost Sunday morning, and we had rain on Friday morning, but it was a great time. Here are some pics and there is more on my bloggy.
Taboo, my home for 3 nights and days:
Me at the helm on Firday, a light rain was falling:
What a lovely day!
Weather got better on Saturday. This is the light house on Sand Island on our way to Cornucopia, WI.
A light fog on the lake as we left Cornucopia in the morning. Had a nice frost all over the boat and the dock that morning too.
Sailing back to Spirit Lake on Sunday. Two of my crewmates enjoying the day.
Hope you enjoy the pics, have vids on the blog.
