New Year's sail to Connecticut

Anyone know of a good destination in Connecticut for a New Years's sail?

Looking to see if there's anything special going on, either Friday night (New Year's Eve) or Saturday (New Year's Day).

Annapolis has their festival, wondering if CT has something similar or anything else.

Regards,
Brad

The only public event in CT on New Years Eve that I'm aware of is First Night in Hartford (fireworks, street fairs, etc.). The only catch is the 40 mile trip up the CT River!

Another smaller event coming up sooner and closer to the Sound is the Trees in the Rigging parade in Essex (11/28). Boats decorated with Xmas lights parade past the docks in Essex as part of the celebration. I'm going to try to keep the boat in long enough for that.

It's likely to be REALLY COLD anywhere near the water for New Year's in Connecticut. Towns that do have "First Night" type events are focused more on sleigh rides and possibly fireworks than anything water-related. Our harbor may be frozen over, unless we get a warm snap.
