I just purchased a 1986 O'day 272!

Hey!

My name is John. I grew up sailing a Coronado 15. This is my first boat and I am pretty excited. I was looking at catalinas but I figured the o'day 272 should be a fun frist boat, plus it was 10 years newer than most of the catalinas I could afford. The boat had a marine survey in 2005. I had a few questions about the boat. The head seems to be a port a potty conversion. It has a line that runs to a manual pump to a thru hull, and then one that looks like it comes from the deck but no pump out is visible, a possible water line? do any of you have a similar setup? Also I need a manual for the boat, I have the sale brochure from original purchase but only certain pages of the manual. Where can I get an o'day 272 manual? Thanks and I would be interested to hear from any other 272 owners. I'll post some pictures this weekend.

Well beside minor problems with the outboard on the way in our first sea run was awesome. There was lack of wind but I wasn't to set on testing the sails and rigging in a solid breeze. Today I plan to address the outboard issue.

Here is my boat. We cleaned and oiled the teak plus fixed a bunch of stuff in the cabin. I still need to get the electrical setup correctly. Right now the switch is somehow bypassed.
