Key West to Isla Mujeres and the dog

Planning to set out within the next few weeks after I have another autopilot for backup. Also plan to get more food stores and such. Anyone been to Isla Mujeres lately? How about with a dog? Mine will be my first mate for now. If something happens to me I dread the thought of him being captain.

Probably will sail to the Tortugas then go due South toward Cuba. Will hug the coastline all of the way to to the western side of Cuba then go maybe 50 miles farther south below Cuba to get out of any eastern currents before considering a port side tack to go West.

Expecting the trip to take two weeks or less and will have about 60 gallons of water on board. Also 100lbs or so of dog food. Plan to get more dog food and food for me in Mexo. I have ample means of emergency communication except for a SSB transmitter (only a reciever) Will be glad if I find a sister boat who is going there as well. My hull speed is max 6-7 knots. Its a Grampian 30'
