When it comes to sailing, we are all in the same boat- we rely on wind to move across the water quietly. Kane

The optimist expects the wind. The pessimist complains about the wind. The realist adjusts the sails.

Don't know about quotes, but when I'm on the boat I'm happy.

"The cure for anything is salt water: sweat, tears, or the sea" - Isak Dinesen

And -

"To err is human. To arr is pirate."

Not necessarily sailing-related, per se, but I like them and they do apply:

"You don't have to be prepared as long as you're willing to suffer the consequences."

And -

"Life is tough, but it's tougher when you're stupid." - John Wayne

Somewhere around the age of 10 or 12, I first heard the adage "When in doubt, let it out". This bit of wisdom, I think known to all sailors, has served me well for the last 50 years.
