WINMOR computer soundcard TNC Ham HF SSB Email.

WINMOR computer soundcard TNC Ham HF SSB email software rocks.

It is FREE software, unless you want to pay a $39 donation.
Plays from your laptop via a Signalink USB Interface ($100 from Ham Radio shops) into your Ham HF SSB Radio (inexpensive from Ebay).
Works on the Winlink 2000 email system and is FREE.

Almost as fast as the best hardware TNC.

Download RMS Express (WINMOR) here:

WINMOR

Then download and read the Winmor Primer here: (takes a little while to download).

PS. I have no affiliation to Winmor whatsoever.

I was one of the about 2000 Beta testers of the software, though.
Just enthusiastic about this excellent new HF SSB email mode.

It is currently free only for the Ham bands, and you need a Ham radio license to operate it via Ham HF SSB. (Easy to get nowadays.)

You can play with it between 2 laptops with acoustic coupling (ie. external microphones looking at the internal speakers) without any license of any kind.

Winmor Radio Message Servers (RMS's) are now all over the USA and Canada,
the Caibbean, Europe, and Australia.

See how it is taking over the Winlink 2000 traffic from 0 to about 12500 connections last month, in just a few months of operation.

I've tried it. Not on a sailboat though. I definitely works and not hard to setup. The price (free) is hard to beat.

ffill you are right - all processing is done by the pc. I guess the only expense is a good external sound card interface which is about $100; it comes handy for other things like receiving weatherFAX and digital modes
