Nauticat s-340 or Finnsailer 34

Hi,

We are looking to buy a boat and are really interested in the above boat. It is a Nauticat but is the same as the Finnsailer 34

Any information or opinion would be very much appreciated, particularly her ability to sail!

Many thanks

Kathryn

Hi Kathy!
If you really want to learn all you can about Nauticat sailing yachts, then you should join the Nauticat group on Yahoo. We have close to 700 members around the world and collectively we own every kind of Nauticat ever built. Be forewarned, though, that for some strange reasons, our group is in the "adult" section. You can try this link //groups dot yahoo dot com/search?adult=1&mature=1&query=nauticat
Cheers,

blt2ski will become famous soon enough
kathy,

There is at least one person with a nauticat on here, that can explain some things. BUT, going to a "BRAND" oriented email list or forum is usually a better way to get info.

I will also swag, that the email list is in the "adult" section due to a filter that is taking the "NAUTI" calling it naughty, and "cat" being a slang for person.........and where are you? in the adult section. Someone might try asking Yahoo to put them in the boat or equal section vs adult.

Marty

Would be worth them changing the location of the site on Yahoo. I was a bit concerned about receiving high volumes of spam!! I have registered with them and asked the question so hopefully someone may have some advice or opinions

The Nauticat S-340 is described as a motor sailer but it is more sailing boat. It just has the one helm in the cockpit and there is just a screen rather than an enclosed helm. It's a little similar to some Halberg Rassy models (nothing like the price tag!)

There were only 10 made by Nauticat who I think made the original moulds for Finnsailer. Not sure how many were made with the name 'Finnsailer 34'

Not sure if there are any others in the UK (my location).

We have sold our motor cruiser and are now hunting a sailing boat. My OH wants to sail more than motor but we also wanted decent accommodation as we will spend most of our spare time and holidays aboard. If we get this one I think initially with sandpaper and cleaning brushes!! This seemed a reasonable compromise but I am concerned he will be disappointed with the sailing aspect.

Thanks for the replies. I am sure I will have lots more questions to ask about many things in the future, whichever boat we eventually decide upon.

Kathryn
