Remembering Brian Weeks Past US Sunfish Class President

It is a sorrowful moment to announce the passing of our friend Brian Weeks. He has been a huge supporter of boating, sailing and especially dinghy sailing on the Great South Bay and Nationally as a Past President of the US Sunfish Class Association, builder of Force Fives and DN Class Ice Boats, author of several articles and is published in the Sunfish Bible. He has helped many of us with advice, repairing our boats, and supplying boat parts in a pinch. Until his medical issues of the past several years, Brian competitively raced his Sunfish and supported Wet Pants and Sayville YC...he will surely be missed by us all.

Here is some additional information:

Brian Timothy Weeks, 48, of Patchogue, NY passed on December 28, 2010

Beloved husband of Tina Marie (nee Ferraiuolo), Loving son of David and Georgia. Dear brother of Kevin and the late Dale and Jeffrey Weeks.

Family will receive friends on Saturday and Sunday, 2-4:00 and 7-9:30.
Services will be held on Monday, Jan 3, 2011 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church on Rider Ave. in Patchogue, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Brian's name may be made to the
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 425 Broadhollow Rd., Ste 318
Melville, NY 11747; 516.827.1290

Brian was a past USSCA President (1992-98) and worked tirelessly for the Sunfish Class for many years in several offices. He also wrote many racing articles for the Windward Leg and has some published in The Sunfish Bible.

Brian's obituary is at The Ruland Funeral Home web site The Ruland Funeral Home : Patchogue, New York (NY).
