Wisconsin or Illinois Marina Recommendations

I'm probably going to buy a boat outside of the Great Lakes and keep it in the city marina of Milwaukee. If I do that, I'll need to find a marina I can trust to receive the boat from transport and commission the boat. I might also prefer the marina to manage the transport completely, as it seems likely that there could be some significant issues if there is damage and we don't know if it's from decommission, transport, or commission. I may also want to have the marina install some equipment because there is limited professional help at the Milwaukee city marina.

Any suggestions? I'd hope to have some ideas on this before Strictly Sail show in Chicago at the end of the month. I suspect many of the major marinas will have people at the show.

Contact Cramer Marine. Gene has an excellent reputation in Milwaukee. He works out of Milwaukee Marine on first street. Not a pretty yard but that was not your question.

We are looking at Larsens Marine in Waukegan for winter storage. Seems like a nice yard but have no experience other that their brokerage and ships store. They will be at SS also.

I have used Larsen's for over 25yrs. They are a very professional company. I believe they are the most knowledgeable when it comes to sail boats.

Larsen is a great marina with very professional and knowledgeable staff. You can't go wrong using them. I have also used Cramer in Milwaukee, but I don't think the yard is there any longer.
