Next step - St. Augustine!

Hey everyone. Been a while since I posted, but have been lurking! I'd posted some questions about different boating communities on the East coast and we made our decision - St. Augustine, FL. Coming from TX where there's no income tax, I just couldn't stomach the income tax in the other states.

The house is sold and the lake boat is for sale. We'll rent a place in St. Aug while we look for more permanent housing. Next step will be to buy 'the' boat that will take us cruising.

Thanks to those that responded to the questions about where to relocate!

Sounds like you need a new user name!

St. Augustine is a pretty nice place to stay. A lot to do in the area and the Municipal Marina is one of the nicer marinas I've seen.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

@Allan - I have email addresses tied to Colorado too. You'd think I'd have learned by now!
@Scott - Will do. I'm interested in doing some racing if you've got any contacts.
@John and Jen - way to go! See you out there
@SD - we stayed right across from the city marina when we went to visit. Wandered over there and talked to a few of the captains - good friendly people!
