First boat show.

Heading out to my first ever boat show! The Nashville Boat Show opens today and runs thru the weekend. Hoping to use the experience to set some goals about leaving the rat race and hitting the water.

Well that sucked. Nary a sailboat in the whole joint, I know it's Tennessee and all but I figured...

Anyways, carry on. Nothing to see here.

Ya .... been there, done that. If the word "sail" isn't in the title, don't expect anything but power or fishing.

bljones has a spectacular aura about bljones has a spectacular aura about
"Nashville Boat Show"- if that doesn't scream "100 000 square feet of nuthin' but bassboats, pontoon boats and SeaRays!", nuthin' does.
Oh yeah, and lots of personal watercraft, but not so much personal hygiene.

Reminds me of the Outdoor and Cottage Country show here in Toronto a couple of months back (I went for the tools exhibits annexed to the show)..

There was one, count-em, one sailboat vendor (Nacra) in the whole joint. On the other hand bass boats, jet-skis et al were in abundance. Along with crossbows, camo gear, bows, paint-guns, et al. It felt like a living incarnation of Deliverance.. I could almost hear the banjo playing..

At least tomorrow I'll be at a "real" boat-show.. although from what I hear there's less and less sail at these things.

I can't imagine mastering the skills involved here without a clearer understanding of who's going to be impressed.
