name that boat!!!

My friends grandfather gave him this little sailboat. Unfortunately the badge that gives all the information on the boat is faded and the paper work is lost somewhere most likely never to be found again. I was hoping someone could tell me what kinda boat it is so i can look up some information up on it and find out how to rig the sails correctly. We've got it working but for some reason it just doesnt feel like i've got the rope rigged right.

I currently only have the one photo of it but if more are needed i can make that happen.

Looks a lot like a Javelin, but it is hard to say, since you really need a better photo. This one is from a bad angle and overexposed--so you can't make out any detail on the deck or in the cockpit, because it is all blown out.

It would help if you said how long the boat was. It would help if you gave more information about the boat, like does it have a centerboard, etc. Also, a photo of the sails might help, as most sails have a boat model/brand logo on them.

As SD noted, it would be helpful if we knew the length and had better photos. Off hand there are a number of boats that this could be. It could be a Javelin as SD suggested but it also could be a Pintail, perhaps a Robin, or most likely an American Fiberglass 14.6 (which had the same strange splash coaming location).

sorry for not giving a lot of information, my knowledge of sailing is very limited. I will get some better pictures of the boat this weekend and post them asap as well as gettin the length and pictures of the sails. Off the top of my head i would say that the boat is going to be around 10ft
