Hi Everyone....We acquired two huge red & white canvas sails....Should we toss these or is there a use for them still?....Appreciate the feedback!....Linda

Probably no market for them as sails... canvas, at least cotton canvas, is pretty obsolete. However, a lot of companies now make things like duffel bags from retired sails...and that might be an option. If you put them up on craigslist, I'm pretty sure someone will buy them.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

It depends upon their size and configuration. You may want to check into the folks that sail skipjacks around Chesapeake Bay for the tourist trade. The Martha Lewis out of Tydings Park Marina in Havre de Grace. MD uses canvas sails.

Are they really "canvas"? There are outfits turning old sails into tote bags, kit bags, purses etc.
