Talking Delware River Sailnetters' Pre-Launch Gala!!!

[Oops, I just realized that I misspelled "Delaware" in the topic title, but can't change it. Doh!]

With spring launch just around the corner for us in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions, it's time to plan a local get-together. Since DeniseO30 and Ulladh handled the logistics last Spring and Fall, it's my turn this time. I propose a get-together for drinks/light dinner at West End Boat Club (Essington, PA), where we can take in their beautiful view of the sunset.

Let's target March 26, 6 PM.

Click here for directions from the MD-DE border. You can modify these directions for your own starting point.

For most of us it will be a pre-launch drive-in event. Anyone wishing to come by boat, let me know and I'll check into transient slippage at the Club or a nearby marina (depending on your draft).

I am OK with both the 19th and 26th.

I took advantage of the two days this past week close to 70 F and finish some hull and rudder work I had to do before bottom coat.

I'm ok for the 26th. Can we pitch pennies in the Coy Pond too? West End is a beautiful YC.

I would possibly be in as long as work doesn't come, i.e. snow or pfd schedule. Also denise it would be great to meet with you with my wife and hopefully take you up on that offer this year. Last year was absolutely crazy for me

Based on preferences that I have heard, we will target March 26 as our date. My use of the word "gala" was a little bit of marketing hype - we're bascially just going to get together for informal dinner and drinks. Between March 12-19 I would like to start getting an accurate headcount so I can warn the club of how many people we will expect. I'd love to get as many participants as we can from the Delaware River/Bay, eastern shore points, and Chesapeake Bay & tributaries.
